Health

At Camp Nesher, the safety and well being of our campers and staff is our number one priority.

Our medical staff consists of a doctor, registered nurses, and a Camp Mother. Nurses dispense medications from our Health Center which is open 24 hours a day to all who need it. In the event that we need additional medical services,  both Wayne County Memorial Hospital in Honesdale, PA and Geisinger Community Medical Center in Scranton, PA are located nearby.

At Camp Nesher we are sensitive to the fact that when a health issue arises for a child who is far from home, they need that “extra” dose of tender loving care – our medical staff can be counted on to be there for them if and when that situation arises.

When it comes to Food-Service, we realize that our campers have varying tastes – that’s why we do our best to have multiple options at meals available. Breakfasts include a full cereal bar, fresh fruit, yogurt, mini bagels and cream cheese in addition to the featured item served. At both lunch and dinner, we offer a salad bar, plain pasta and fresh fruit to complement our hot entrees. Campers celebrating a birthday get a cake along with a big round of”Happy Birthday!”

We are a nut-sensitive camp, always doing our best to cater to other food allergies or sensitivities as well. A Vegetarian option, for those who require it, is offered when meat meals are served. Our Camp Mother is on-hand at mealtimes for campers who might need that extra assistance in finding something to eat.
